Worried about your child’s well being?
Frustrated with your adolescent?
Has the school been calling you?
Overwhelmed by parenting in general?
There is help! Therapy can give your child the tools
to be more successful with peers, improve academic performance, and be a more positive member of your family. I
can help your child or adolescent heal the hurt, find new solutions, learn healthier ways to cope with daily problems,
and communicate better with others.
An important part of the healing process is working with parents.
Whether you are concerned about emotional, social, or behavioral issues, I will provide you with the support and information
you need to help your child at home. In a non-judgmental, encouraging environment you can learn new ways to
enhance your skills and confidence with your child.
"We’re worried about Maria.
She hates going to school and hardly has any friends. Her problems are also starting to affect the rest of
family."
Through therapeutic conversation and art or play therapy, your
child will explore feelings and methods of communication in a nurturing, safe environment. He or she will
develop healthier coping skills. I believe in empowering parents by supporting their strengths and offering effective
parenting tools.
"I love Jason, but I have
trouble liking him. He’s out of control. His teachers complain about him. Nothing I’ve tried
has worked for very long."
While all parents feel overwhelmed at times, life can become
unmanageable when a child has an undiagnosed psychological or neurological condition. I will assess and work with
your child while providing you with the strategies and resources you need. I can collaborate by phone with your child's physician
or teacher if needed.
